Donates $85k as part of 50th anniversary campaign

Sept. 28, 2010, OTTAWA, ON — As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, Golder Associates Ltd. has donated $85,000 to Tree Canada’s “Greening Canada’s School Grounds” program to plant trees in 20 schools across the country.

Tree Canada will select schools and arrange tree planting events in the fall of 2010 and spring of 2011. Besides planting and maintaining the trees, Tree Canada will also conduct first, second and fifth year assessments while retaining the title to carbon under this campaign.

“We are delighted to support Tree Canada’s “Greening Canada’s School Grounds” program which is an investment in our communities and creates a better environment for our children and future generations. Our relationship with Tree Canada is one of many legacy projects we are commencing this year to commemorate our 50th anniversary,” says Mark Brightman, president, Golder Associates Ltd.

“School ground greening is a great way to show students how trees improve where they learn and play. Planting a tree is something they will always remember,” Tree Canada President Michael Rosen says. “We are proud to be working with Golder who will help create a lasting legacy for schools and hundreds of students in years to come.”
