Katherine Forster

Program Manager

Katherine Forster has worked previously for the Friends of Petrie Island as the Native Flora Program Coordinator, running a native species program that included a butternut tree recovery project and a shoreline restoration project. She also developed and managed a greening program that supported the enhancement of local faith community properties with native species of trees, shrubs and plants.

Katherine has a degree in Urban Planning from the University of Waterloo and an Ecosystem Management diploma from Fleming College. Wanting to explore opportunities to increase nature in cities, Katherine is happy to work for an organization that supports urban forestry and urban greening projects!

Katherine has had a longstanding fascination with the ecological connection between flora and fauna, including small blooms and mosses that support a variety of insects. In her spare time, Katherine enjoys growing various plants in her backyard shade garden.
