Nicole Eaton brings a wealth of philanthropic experience to Tree Canada’s Board of Directors. She was appointed to the Senate of Canada in 2009, made Deputy Speaker in 2015 and retired in 2020. She sat on a number of Senate Standing Committees including Agriculture & Forestry, Transport & Communications, The Library of Parliament, Finance and chaired the Artwork Advisory Working Group.
Nicole is currently a Board member of St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation, The National Ballet of Canada, and the Art Gallery of Ontario.
She has been a Trustee & Governor of the Royal Ontario Museum, Director of The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, Co-Chair of the Winter Garden Show, Director, The Stratford Festival Theatre, Trustee of the Gardiner Museum and Co-Chair, Honorary Committee I.C.A.F.
Nicole was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Mediaeval Studies in 2013 and has co-authored two books: In a Canadian Garden and At Home in Canada.
