Pierre is the General Manager of SOVERDI, a not-for-profit organization coordinating the private component of an extensive tree planting plan in Montreal: 300,000 trees, of which 200,000 are located on private and institutional grounds, in order to obtain a canopy of 25%. The project has about 40 partners. Pierre manages SOVERDI since 2004, following a career in education (teaching and educational television) and in the public service for the City of Montreal and the Government of Quebec (politics and action plans). Before that, Pierre worked on the development of outdoor recreation. He has founded and managed a number of organizations dedicated to hiking trails, outdoors recreational areas and urban nature. Pierre brings to Tree Canada a wealth of experience in his two favorite fields of interest: education and urban nature.
