Why is Carbon Offsetting Important?
Since trees are a major source of carbon sequestration, they are critical in the fight against climate change. Our Grow Clean Air program allows individuals to offset their emissions by contributing to the purchase of carbon credits from the protection of old-growth trees in British Columbia. Each carbon credit represents one tonne of greenhouse gas emissions (tCO2e) to be retired in the B.C. carbon registry. Individuals and businesses can also compensate for their carbon emissions by donating to our National Greening Program to plant trees.
