Tree Canada believes firmly that the social, psychological, and economic benefits of Canada’s urban forests are worth preserving. Because of this, we’ve dedicated ourselves to championing, stewarding and expanding our urban forests for more than a quarter century.
Since 1992, Tree Canada has greened more than 700 communities throughout Canada. We’ve supported the greening of more than 700 schoolyards, and planted more than 10,000 edible fruit and nut trees and shrubs in communities all across Canada to help fight urban food insecurity.
CN is a true backbone of the economy, transporting more than $250 billion worth of goods annually. But more than that, CN demonstrates its environmental stewardship through its championing of urban greening programs in partnership with Tree Canada.
Each year CN generously contributes grants of up to $25,000 to deserving communities from coast to coast to coast. The trees planted make a lasting difference in our communities for generations to come.

Our projects support greening in communities of all kinds from schools to hospitals and from the smallest Indigenous communities to our biggest urban centres.
