Strengthening the relationship between students and nature

With the support of our sponsors, we’ve turned barren schoolyards into living outdoor classrooms, created arboretums for hands-on learning and helped reconnect students with the natural world.

Eligible projects receive up to $10,000 in funding to cover the cost of purchasing and planting trees and shrubs, site preparation, tree maintenance, planting materials and developing education materials.

Hear from a Past Grant Recipient

“The Tree Canada grant program was beneficial not only because it provided us with much needed additional funding to supplement the Ecole Sir William Osler nature playground and outdoor classroom project, but also because of the expertise, detailed advice and support provided throughout all the stages of the project. Our school and neighbourhood communities are the ultimate beneficiaries – we are so grateful to have received the Tree Canada grant and look forward to the many years of beauty, shade and shelter the trees they have made possible to purchase will provide.”
