Tree Canada’s National Tree Day Planting Event in Saint John

Event Description

Tree Canada, in collaboration with ACAP Saint John, is excited to celebrate National Tree Day (NTD), presented by BMO! This is the biggest NTD celebration yet, with events taking place across the country during National Forest Week. Join us to plant trees and connect with nature!

Volunteers will participate in planting 16 large trees and 20 shrubs, moving/raking soil, mulching, and staking at this playground.

You’ll be guided by Tree Canada experts and experienced volunteers who will be on hand to support you and answer your tree-related questions. We’ll provide gloves and shovels—all you need to bring is your enthusiasm!

By joining this free planting event, you will increase the number of native trees and shrubs within the Ocean Drive Playground to help support a diverse urban wildlife community while also improving the park space for human users. Trees and shrubs chosen for this space will take into account soil conditions, climate resilience, and wildlife uses to support urban wildlife and our pollinator species.
