Tree Canada’s National Tree Day Planting Event in Halifax

Event Description
Tree Canada, with the support of Halifax Regional Municipality/ Fairview cemetery is excited to celebrate National Tree Day (NTD), presented by BMO. This is the biggest NTD celebration yet, with events taking place across the country during National Forest Week.
Join us to plant trees and connect with nature!
Tree Canada experts and experienced volunteers will be there to support you and answer your tree-related questions. We’ll provide gloves and shovels—just bring your enthusiasm!
This free event aims to support local biodiversity by planting native species. Volunteers will play an active role in habitat restoration while gaining insights into the local environment.
The old cemetery is home to trees that are over a century old. Some of these are in decline due to age, hurricane damage, or insect infestation. The newly planted trees will help replace those that are dying. One of the planting areas borders a busy urban street and will offer numerous environmental and aesthetic benefits.
