Tree Social & Learning Event

Event Description

To create an opportunity for in-person engagement and social interaction among our Penticton Trees Facebook Group…to expand support for our trees and tree community building for Penticton’s arbour fans. We’re offering an afternoon in a beautifully treed city park to meet each other, participate in related activities and learning events. Events include tree knowledge walk, Shinrin Yoku experiencial, identifying local tree challenges and solutions, tree art and tree advocacy. Our feature event…a tree planting demonstration. Planting will reveal tree selection criteria for changing climatic conditions in the dry Okanagan, with emphasis on how to plant & maintain. We will be custodians of this tree going forward. We are recipients of a small community building grant from the South Okanagan/Similkameen Community Foundation.
