Event Description
Come celebrate National Tree Day with us!
This program has been designed for homeschooling/unschooling families and invites children and youth ages 6-14 years old to join us outside to connect with nature and with each other as we explore a tree theme in an engaging art session led by Sheryl van der Endy. Activities will be inspired by the world around us and the book “The Giving Tree: A Retelling of a Traditional Métis Story” by Leah Marie Dorion and Norman Fleury.
This program welcomes children accompanied by parents and siblings as we listen, share, create, and practice drawing, painting, creative skills, and nature play. This workshop will include invitations for specific art activities as well as open-ended and sensory play. There will be space and materials available for younger siblings to stay engaged close-by under parents’ supervision.
We suggest that you dress for outdoor weather and getting messy. Please bring a reusable water bottle and snacks to keep your family fuelled. We look forward to learning and creating with you!
Wednesday, September 25th. 1:00pm-3:00pm
$10.00 per child 6-14 years old (Older and younger siblings are free.)
